Personal statement is a brief description of that why you are an eligible candidate for the job. It plays a very important role because it distinguishes you from other candidates. That is why it should be written with special care.

Nursing is a job that involves passion. The first thing the employer will look for is your passion for the profession. The next thing is tell your employer about those characteristics of your personality that distinguishes you from other and that make you more eligible than others. Avoid adding your qualification here as it is already mentioned in your form. Describe those qualities that will be beneficial for the job.

Describe your skills and associate it to the description of the job. It will attract the employer’s attention towards you. There are different skills that are the basic requirements of the nursing jobs. These are stated below:

· Communication skills: Good communication skills are very important for nursing jobs. As you have to deal with patients. Sometimes due to illness the patients develop frustrated attitude. If the person has good communication skills he or she would be able to convince the patients. Thus write down about your convincing power in your personal statement.

· Professional Skills: Professional skills are also very important. The person should have skills to develop professional relations with the other members of the office.

· Evaluation Skills: The candidate should be skilled in handling different assessment tools. Moreover they should be aware of techniques used for evaluation.

· Administration Skills:The candidate should be able to keep the drugs safe and use it properly.

· Record Keeping Skills:The candidate must be skilled in keeping the record of all the documents.

· Research Skills:In order to keep yourself up to date the research skills of a candidate are very important.

All the above mentioned skills plays a very important role in nursing profession. Tell the employer how proficient you are in all these areas.
